For over 25 years, Dr. Solomon has completed psychiatric evaluations, for teachers and other district employees, for schools all over New York state. These evaluations are referred to as Section 913 evaluations. By definition, a 913 evaluation is a "medical examination" that is utilized "in order to safeguard the health of children attending the public schools..." and "in order to determine the physical or mental capacity of such person to perform his or her duties." These evaluations have been tremendously effective in assisting teachers who have psychiatric needs. Moreover, 913 evaluations can serve as a preventative measure when a district employee's behavior has risen to a level of concern.
